Payments

Student groups, special interest groups and commercial users

For group and commercial bookings, payment of 50% of the bench fee is required six months in advance. This payment is not refunded if the trip is cancelled or shortened or if the number of people is reduced. Travel insurance can be obtained through any travel agent and is highly recommended.

The remaining 50% of the bench fee is based on the actual number of people who make the visit and the actual number of nights used. This amount is payable on departure from the Station, or within 30 days of departure if arrangements have been made beforehand. Payment for food, freight, snorkelling gear hire and any other items is payable at the same time as the balance of the bench fee.

Researchers

Normally, researchers are not required to make payments in advance. However, partial advance payment may be required of researchers if there is a large number of people in the team or if the visit is of long duration. As well, a fee may apply to full or partial cancellations that are made within four months of the trip.

Payment in full for bench fees, food, freight, snorkelling gear hire and other items is payable on departure from the Station, or within 30 days of departure if arrangements have been made beforehand.
