Consider a Bequest
When you are putting your affairs in order, we hope that you will consider making a bequest to support the work of the Lizard Island Reef Research Foundation.
While we would urge you to seek legal advice, we suggest the following wording for your consideration.
"I give and bequeath the following legacy(ies) and bequest(s) free from any deduction for duties or otherwise:
To the Trustees of the Lizard Island Reef Research Foundation the sum of (dollar amount in words and figures) to be used at their discretion as a contribution towards capital expenditure or running costs of the Lizard Island Research Station. And I declare that the receipt of the Foundation shall be a full and sufficient discharge therefore and that the executor of my estate shall not be bound to see the application thereof."
The Trustees of the relevant Foundation will ensure that your donation is put to effective use by the Research Station in its work for the understanding and protection of the Great Barrier Reef and coral reefs worldwide.
